Notice of Medsafe Office Closure Christmas/New Year 2026/2027

Medsafe will close for Christmas/New Year at 5.00 pm on Wednesday 23 December 2026 and will re-open Wednesday 6 January 2027.

Medsafe application close-off dates

Changed Medicine Notifications (CMNs) and Self-Assessable Changed Medicine Notifications (SACNs) received before Wednesday 16 December 2026 will be acknowledged and invoiced in 2026. CMNs and SACNs received after this date will be acknowledged and invoiced once financial processing recommences on Wednesday 6 January 2027.

Please notify Medsafe immediately at medsafeapplications@health.govt.nz if an urgent CMN relating to a potential stock shortage is submitted during the cut-off period between 16 December and 22 December 2026.

Complete New Medicine Applications (NMAs) received before Tuesday 1 December 2026 will be acknowledged and invoiced before the office closes. NMAs received after this date will be acknowledged and invoiced once financial processing recommences on Wednesday 6 January 2027.
