Product Recall Notice - Macleans Protect Toothpaste

GlaxoSmithKline Consumer Healthcare NZ Ltd, after consultation with Medsafe,
is recalling the above 4 batches of Macleans Protect Toothpaste. These batches
do not fully comply with the microbial quality standards for these products.
Although tubes from these batches pose little risk to most people, those
who have a severely weakened immune system may be at risk of infection.
Consumers who are concerned should contact their doctor or call our information
line on 0800 550 560 for advice.
It is important to note that this recall only applies to these 4 specific batches of Macleans Protect Fresh Mint and Mild Mint. No other Macleans batches and products used by consumers in New Zealand are being recalled. Specifically, it is important to note that the 90g tubes of these two Macleans Protect pastes are not involved.
The products are sold at all major supermarkets throughout New Zealand. Consumers who have the product with the above mentioned batches should return the product to their retailer for a full refund or phone 0800 550 560 with any queries.
This recall only affects these particular batches of these products. The batch number for these batches can be found stamped on the end of the individual carton and on the crimping at the end of the toothpaste tube.
