| Issue: | On the 24th November, the nonprofit organisation “Apache Software Foundation” was made aware of a vulnerability with its open source Java-based logging utility, Log4j. The vulnerability, CVE-2021-44228, is a type of remote code execution vulnerability, meaning it can be exploited remotely and without requiring authentication, e.g. username or password. Unfortunately, Log4j is amongst one of the most widely used tools in the collection of information across organisational computer networks, websites, and numerous other software applications. |
