| Issue: | The emergency lowering battery of the nursing care bed was replaced several times by a responsible company. After the last change a fire damage occurred on the bed. The slatted frame and the mattress were slightly scorched by a sudden heat development. No persons were injured. drive supplier informed us in a statement that the failure of diode D4 could be identified as the cause of the fault. The diode disconnects the emergency lowering battery from the parallel connected power supply. In individual cases it could come to a defect of this diode, and therefore to a damage of the emergency lowering battery. In case of a failure of the diode, the supply voltage meets the battery, which after a short time can lead to a damage of the battery and to heat development in that very area. |
