Medicine Recall Notice - Dilatrend® 25mg tablets (also known as Carvedilol)
20 September 2004
Roche Products (New Zealand) Limited is asking all patients taking Dilatrend 25mg tablets to return these to their pharmacy for checking.
Dilatrend is a heart medication used by some patients with high blood pressure, angina or other heart problems.
One pack of these tablets was found to contain a strip of the weaker 6.25mg strength.
If you are taking Dilatrend 25mg tablets please take these back to your pharmacy where they will be examined to ensure you do not have the 6.25mg strength. The strength of the tablets is written on the foil of the blister strip.
It is important to note that you must not stop taking the tablets before you visit your pharmacy.
This problem only applies to the 25mg strength.
If you have felt unwell whilst taking these tablets and believe this could relate to the product you should consult your medical practitioner for advice.
If you require further information please contact Roche on Freephone 0800 656 464.
