Beijing Ton Ren Tang Australia Pty Ltd is recalling one batch of Bronchi-Cough Pills (Qiguanyan Kesou Tanchuanwan) because amygdalin and aristolochic acid have been found following testing of this batch. These substances may be harmful if consumed.

Information for consumers and caregivers
- If you have a bottle of Bronchi-Cough Pills (Qiguanyan Kesou Tanchuanwan) from batch 16080020, do not use it.
- Return it to the place of purchase for a refund.
- Alternatively call the company’s customer service line at (09) 972 9897 to arrange for the return and refund of the affected product.
- Consumption of amygdalin or aristilochic acid, even in small amounts may be harmful.
- Consult with your doctor if you are concerned about your health following consumption of this product.

- This recall only applies to Bronchi-Cough Pills (Qiguanyan Kesou Tanchuanwan) batch 16080020.
- Patients should be advised that they should stop taking the affected product immediately.
- The company is requesting all customers who have bought the affected product to return it to the place of purchase for a refund, or alternatively to call the company’s customer service line at (09) 972 9897 to arrange for return and refund.
- Consumption of amygdalin or aristolochic acid, even in small amounts may be harmful.
- Aristolochic acid has been linked to serious adverse effects related to kidney function.
