Animas 2020 Insulin Pumps Recall

New Zealand Medical & Scientific (NZMS) are recalling and replacing a limited number of its Animas 2020 insulin pump due to a component failure in products manufactured between April and September 2012.
All patients who have received an affected Animas 2020 pump (estimated to be 53 patients) have been contacted and their pumps are being replaced with another model (Animas Vibe pump).
The Animas 2020 insulin pump is not funded by PHARMAC and this recall does not affect any other diabetic insulin pump or blood glucose meter.
