Medsafe is the New Zealand Medicines and Medical Devices Safety Authority and regulates therapeutic products in New Zealand. In the Product Regulation Branch of Medsafe, we evaluate new and changed medicines against international standards New Zealanders expect their medicines to meet.

We are looking for an Advisor / Senior Advisor with the desire to contribute to the approval of safe and effective medicines and the expertise to evaluate the pharmaceutical chemistry aspects of the technical dossier provided by applicants seeking market authorisation.

This is a permanent, full time position located in Wellington. There may be the possibility of flexible working arrangements for an ideal candidate.

This role will suit someone with an interest and understanding of the manufacture of medicines, the ability to pull together clear ideas and conclusions from large amounts of technical data, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Ideally, you will have relevant qualifications or experience in the manufacture of medicines with a basic understanding of the chemical synthesis used to manufacture active pharmaceutical ingredients.

In this position you will be able to manage your own workload, be willing to contribute to a peer review system, and work as part of a well-motivated team.
